Giving new life to old things has been an important part of my making life since I began.
In this large delight of a pendant I’ve given new life to the very coolest of Victorian poker or game chips. This chip has existed for at least 100 years - and likely longer. It shows the wear and tear of any ephemeral object of that age - meaning - it isn’t perfect. The chip has some scratches and bumps and bruises. Allow for the aged beauty in this piece. Who can resist the owl side-eyeing the moon?
A truly curious object of the past has been repurposed to be worn by someone who believes that old objects hold power and handmade things hold the soul of the maker.
This pendant was made with care and intention and comes ready to adorn your best frock.
Sold with or without a long 30” chain worthy of the pendant .
Call it a talisman, amulet, charm, or just a fun pendant - whatever your choice, let its whimsy and history bring you a tiny bit of magic.
Back is fully decorated with a sky full of stars. Ships with the chain shown.
This piece is totally handcrafted by me in my studio in the forested state of New Hampshire, USA using files, hammers, saws, punches and fire.
This pendant bears my new “W” monogram hallmark.

DETAILS AND DIMENSIONS:

Pendant is approx 1.5” wide x a bit over 2” tall including loop.
Sterling chain is 30” long - choose at check out if desired.
All metal is solid Sterling Silver. No filled or plated metals were used in this piece.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

THIS PIECE CAN NOT BE IMMERSED OR WORN WHERE IT COULD GET WET.
The feature of this piece is the Victorian gaming chip. It is made of what I believe is composition - a sort of layered and compressed cardboard. It has survived a 100 years, please do not get it wet and please store it in a soft enviornment so that other pieces do not scratch it.
I have given it a good coat of wax but it needs to be treated with care.
Like all my work, if you must polish the silver in the future...NEVER dip it or use silver polish - simply use a soft jeweler's polishing cloth gently.
